Blackburn Zayante Small Bicycle Bag, Black Review

This bag features quick-release, bellows-type expansion of the lower third, as well as two side pockets.

Quick-release.......works well!

The exterior of the bag is made of a tough nylon-type material. It seems as though the exterior fabric will give long service.
The cheap fabric that forms the expansion bellows and the pocket lining is so cheap that the fabric inside of the pockets has worn through just from normal rubbing of the items in the bag.

I would never trust this bag in the expanded mode because the side bellows are made of the same cheap and thin material. Once that wears through, there goes everything in the bag......out on the road. And the side "pockets" are merely side entrances now because the pocket lining is shot. Anything I put in the side "pocket" falls directly into the main chamber.

Buy this bag if you want an easily detachable bag with a single chamber that has one rear and two side zipper entrances.
Do NOT buy this bag if you are attracted by claims of expandability or if you think you can use the separate pockets.

BTW: I've had this bag less than one month......about 750kM.

UPDATE: Feb 2013
Now I've had this bag for not quite 2 months. Not only is the interior fabric coming apart, the exterior fabric is too. The upper seam (where the bag attaches to the quick-connect system) has 3 inch tears on both sides. Not bad stitching.......the fabric is spontaneously self-destructing.
I have an older Blackburn saddle bag that I've had on my bikes for 13 years. It's still going strong. I just wanted something a little bit bigger. So I went with Blackburn because of their "quality". Well, that quality is there no more.
DO NOT buy this BLACKBURN ZAYANTE under-saddle bag. It's pure junk.

SCHWALBE Rocket Ron 26" MTB tyre 26 x 2.10 Performance faltbar black Review

I had received this tire a day early and was waiting for it to go ride. My first time on these tires and I have been riding XC for 20 years and these tires are by far the best for Missouri riding,from gravel ,sand to hard packed dirt , I have ridden many diff tires and finally found a great set for tearing up the trails!!, they shed mud really well and dig into the turns.A little sloppy in mud but what tire isn't. I am a diehard fan of the Velociraptor tire but now have found my calling with these.The 2.25 size in kevlar is bigger than what they look when aired up so make sure your frame will hold the space so it doesn't rub your frame if running them on rear. Much better than the Panaracer Psycho because the edge knobs cut better and flex. The psycho I have had trouble with the edge knobs tearing off when in hard turns and tough ground. This is my proven tire through and through and plan on going back into the races after a much needed rest. These tires will carry me to victory on my Gary Fisher Cake. A lot of riding is mental and ya gotta trust your tires when hauling downhill on technical sections. I have piece of mind running beyond my limits with these. they respond better without a sloppy hesitation before digging in. Put them on and test ride before going out and letting it rip. Anyone will be happy with these tires. If you are looking for the best all around off road tire I believe this is it and superlight!!! Ride fast!!

Big Roc Tools Brake Lever in Orange Review

I bought these because I strongly dislike the new fad of "three finger" brake levers. I like long brake levers I can rest my fingers across as I ride, and yet be ready for any sudden stops. These definitely fit the bill. They're well put together, not floppy like a lot of the new levers I tried at my local bike shop. The only "con" is that the knuckle of my pointer finger hits the "dog leg" bump in the lever-housing. This is partly because I like my brake levers to sit high on my handlebar. If you set the brake lever down low kind of "underneath" the handlebar as most people do, you *probably* won't have this problem. Other than that though, these levers are wonderful. They're very much a good value: the color is bright, the lever and housing are extremely sturdy, and the lever itself is natural and comfortable to use. Highly recommended.
