I was looking for a new wheel for my mountain bike for less than $100 that was v-brake and disc compatible. This item turned out to be everything I expected and more. Recently punished this wheel to 8 straight hours of single track taking drops on a hard tail bike, I am a 220lb 5'9" rider and this wheel took all of the punishment I could throw at it. Numerous drops to rocks, bridge gap jumps, etc and this thing is still true as it was when I got it from Amazon. Great wheel I would recommend to anyone who needs durability and isn't overly concerned about sacrificing some weight.

Please note that i installed this brake on my a schwinn fixed gear I built up. Its fantastic, has great stopping power even in the rain. However, the bolt on the rear side of the brake that connects to the frame is very short, which can be a problem.

My husband is a confirmed retro-grouch. The up-side of his grouchiness is that the bicycles he maintains don't need a lot of work. The old parts, generally, are simple, optimized things that do what they are supposed to do with a minimum of fuss.

The downside is the one thing that makes my grouch grouchy. He loves his old Campagnolo hubs, but six speeds is really too much for the old asymetrical freewheel axles. He does not like trolling eBay for authentic replacements every few months.

So we got a couple of these, ensuring to have a spare around.

After a couple years using the first one, the spare is still a spare.

This is a better than original replacement for the Campy axle.

Now if I can just convince him to fit an old Shimano 105 freehub into his old machines.....

The bearing on one pedal has started to go out, but its lasted over a year. running these in my kenda small block 8's (26x2.35)
all of the "universal" tubes that are available locally are 1.5-2.1, and they still fit all loose and dangly on the rim. yes, they conform to the space inside the tire once you get it seated and inflated, but it's a PITA. These fit my rim (559mm) snugly and make tire changes a breeze. where i ride i tend to get a lot of puncture flats, and i just don't feel like dealing with a bunch of tubeless goop. at <$4 each i usually don't even bother patching these. i just order a few of them at a time and always keep a spare in my saddle bag. because they actually fit the rim i'm putting them on (novel concept, huh?) i can change a tire like a nascar pit crew now.
