SRAM OG-1090 10-Speed Cassette - 11-25T Review

Ive been wearing out my DA cassette's and decided to make a change but heard there were sometimes problems making the SRAM silent, this is how I did it.
Installed new hollow pin SRAM PC-1090 Chain
' Install Powerdome Cassette without Freehub spacer
' Tighten to 15nm (all that is needed)
Go ride the bike, in my case the problem was noise in the 22/23/25 cogs
In the inner chain ring, Outer chain ring was fine
' Shift to smallest chain ring and smallest cog and tighten barrel adjuster 1 click clockwise (smallest chain ring and cog because the cable is at its slackest setting and you want to get the full adjustment)
' Go ride and repeat clockwise adjustment until silent, in my case 3 clicks clockwise.

ps: the PD cassette is very sensitive to derailleur adjustments, if yours is out re-adjust the H/L limit screws (as per Park Manual)with the DA cassette only, I found it impossible to do it with the SRAM cassette.

Sunlite Crankset Cotterless Alloy 44x170 3/32 Steel Ring Silver Review

You always get what you pay for, but I am very happy with this crank set. The chainring face looks a little more solid than shown in the photo, but for $20 I can't complain. Also, the chainring is one piece (it doesn't attach to the crank arm with five little bolts like you normally see). I think the machining on the left crank arm socket is a little out of whack because it won't go as far on to the left square taper bolt on the bottom bracket as the my previous crank set. If you get the nut tight, then you shouldn't have any problems.

You're not getting a Campy crank set, but for the money this is a great way to make that old ten speed into a single speed or fixed gear. I also bought a 16t freewheel.

Kawasaki Girl's K20G 20-Inch Bicycle Review

My daughter is petite; so, we got her this pricey 5-speed bike with 20-inch wheels for xmas 2008. Item arrived well-packaged but with a few friction marks. I had to install the front wheel, seat, pedals, water bottle cage, and handlebar. I broke them down to these steps.
1. Front wheel looked straight but the wheel did not spin freely. I had to regrease and repack the wheel bearings.
2. Handlebars installed easily. The cables and shifters are pre-installed; I just had to loosen the adjusting bolt and the handlebar slipped into place.
3. Pedals screwed in easily.
4. Seat had to be adjusted to correct angle. The bolts are hard to get to, but hopefully, you only need to do this once.
5. Water cage is flimsy and I hate where it goes 'cause the water bottle gets dirt and grime really fast.
6. Brakes. The V-brakes are strong but I had to adjust the front brakes. I've always found cantilever and V-brakes a clumsy burdensome ordeal. These were no exception. If you don't have the patience to do it right, take the bike to a bike mechanic and get them set right the first time.
7. The travel on the brake levers was too much for my daughter's small hands. On her maiden voyage I saw her struggle to grasp the levers to come to a stop. Turning the adjustment screws all the way in was still not enough. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me longer adjustment screws. That did the trick. So, you may want to keep an eye on your brake levers. Lever to outside of handlebar should be no more than three inches. My mtn bike and hybrid bikes are 3.5. This bike was originally set at about 3.75 - way too large a gap for a 10 year old.

Now that the bike is finely tuned, it rides great. My daughter loves it and it rides well and stops on a dime. The bike is heavy, but the extra gearing will compensate for that. Again, I only got this bike because my daughter is petite and quickly out grew a single-speed 20-inch bike, but she is not big enough to jump on a 24-inch bike. This will tie her over for a couple more years.

I ride and work on my own bikes; I have a tandem, hybrid, mountain and even a lowrider bike. I have the tools and knowledge to make all the necessary adjustments to make this bike road worthy. I feel this bike should have been put together better at the factory than in the condition I received it - I should not have had to touch the bearings and brakes. Most buyers should consider taking this bike to a qualified bike mechanic.

Pake Track 1/8" 165mm Silver, 46T Crankset Review

I upgraded my drivetrain from a 3/32" to a 1/8" system and it's been great. Not having a whole lot of money at the time and not knowing what crankset I wanted to land on I chose the 60 dollar Pake option until i could afford better ones. They were great in the beginning and looked cool! You can set the chainring on the inside or the outside of the crank spider.

After riding them for a while I noticed that there was a lot of flex in the arms. At a stop and with the left arm pointing towards the back I applied forced weight on the crank arm and saw it flex down and in towards the frame. Also, when pedaling super fast I feel like they are going to fall apart, and it might have something to do with the flex. At low speeds they seem fine.

I plan on building a cheap bike from the frame up that I can just cruise around on and take to the beach and I will probably put these Pake's on it. They do the job, but as my riding is progressing they aren't cutting it anymore. All in all, they do the job and are good for beginners, or if you just need a crankset on your bike that you don't ride around on too much, or if you just need a cheap substitution while saving up for a better crankset. Not good if you ride all the time and are looking for good and stiff performance.

Kent Girls Rock CandyBike (20-Inch Wheels) Review

The first thing that caught our eye with this bike is the beautiful color for our daughter who's sick of pink everything. She loves it! We also wanted a bike with gears, but she's having a hard time adjusting them. We read in some other reviews that that's kind of a common problem, but I think it will improve with age and practice. She's a short 9 1/2 year old, and this frame is the perfect size for her. We looked into getting a 24-inch bike, but she's just too small. (She's probably about 53 inches tall and still in size 7 pants, if that gives you an idea of her size.) Overall we're very happy with this bike and don't regret the purchase at all.
