I upgraded my drivetrain from a 3/32" to a 1/8" system and it's been great. Not having a whole lot of money at the time and not knowing what crankset I wanted to land on I chose the 60 dollar Pake option until i could afford better ones. They were great in the beginning and looked cool! You can set the chainring on the inside or the outside of the crank spider. After riding them for a while I noticed that there was a lot of flex in the arms. At a stop and with the left arm pointing towards the back I applied forced weight on the crank arm and saw it flex down and in towards the frame. Also, when pedaling super fast I feel like they are going to fall apart, and it might have something to do with the flex. At low speeds they seem fine.
I plan on building a cheap bike from the frame up that I can just cruise around on and take to the beach and I will probably put these Pake's on it. They do the job, but as my riding is progressing they aren't cutting it anymore. All in all, they do the job and are good for beginners, or if you just need a crankset on your bike that you don't ride around on too much, or if you just need a cheap substitution while saving up for a better crankset. Not good if you ride all the time and are looking for good and stiff performance.
