Jagwire Ripcord Brake Kit, Braided White Review

The other review telling people the cable is too short and to go to a bike shop is just plain wrong (at least about this kit). If you look around at the other Jagwire cable kits, this same comment is in every one. From my research, Jagwire now provides much more housing than they did with older kits. My bike uses the housing all the way from the lever to the brake along the top tube. I had WAY more than enough, probably more than enough to go along the bottom tube, and back up the seat tube. My bike uses rim brakes, not disc, but I think I had enough housing to reach disc brakes too. I have about 4 feet left over.

The cable and fittings are of top quality. The housings are lined and the wires are teflon coated, making these wires very low friction, and should never require lubrication. Everything fit together like a glove, and my brakes have never worked better. Get some good cable cutters with an awl for straightening housing end cuts, and you'll be able to do as good a job replacing your brake cables as a bike shop. Using these cables instead of cheaper cables, you'll have much better than the bike shop would install for the same or less money.
