Miche Shimano 22t Middle/Final Position Cog, 8/9-Speed Review
These fit on Shimano hubs. Build quality is good. The metal is slightly more blue vs Shimano standard. They are still stamped metal, but with a better polish than Shimano. These are strong, and don't seem to flex with high torque. Ramps and shaped teeth are compatible with HyperGlide, and will line up properly if mixed with Shimano cogwheels.Despite what Harris Cyclery, Sheldon Brown, or anyone else on the web says, these are not "Shimano Compatible Cogs". They are Cogs that can fit on a Shimano hub, with Miche spacers. If your entire cassette is Miche, then use Miche spacers, and everything will be fine.
The cogs themselves are slightly thicker than Shimano cogs (1.82mm vs 1.78mm). If you mix them, and swap out only one cogwheel, then you'll be fine. Ramps line up nicely.
If you swap out four, you won't be able to install the lockring. You can sand down spacers and the hub section of the cogwheel which will help; however, you'll likely still have indexing problems, slow shifting, etc.
Miche spacers are 2.52mm, and come in grey for 9-speed, Shimano compatible cogs. Shimano are dark grey, or aluminum, making separation easy.
