I just had a really nice custom wheelset made for my 29er mountain bike, and didn't know until I took delivery of them that the front hub (DT Swiss) requires a lock nut with external teeth, rather than the internal teeth the Mavics I used to run required. Finding this part locally proved futile, and only one or two shops on Amazon offered it, and at 24 bucks it's not exactly cheap, but it IS neccessary in this case.
As usual, it's typical Shimano quality - awesome. It's just a locknut, but a good locknut.
