Panaracer Fire FR 2.4 Black Kevlar Review
I used this tire to replace the 26x2.1 Its Ninja that came on the rear of my Iron Horse Warrior 4.0 purchased from amazon. The Panaracer arrived promptly after my order was placed. It was easy to mount on the rim although it seemed like it was almost too loose fitting. I was able to mount and unmount it without the use of any tools at all. After airing it up I discovered that this thing is huge. It has massive lugs and a good tread design. The tread compound seems pretty hard but grippy. It looks like it should resist punctures pretty well, however in my area extra thick slime tubes are a necessity. I have used this tire in snow, sand, mud, hardpack, urban and on large ice sheets. It works great in all of these terrains. It is wide enough to float through the soft stuff, but has enough paddle in the design of the lugs to push it through even when its not toughing anything solid. The center lugs are spaced nicely and have little grippers on them contributing to the excellent ice performance. The bike seemed to defy physics on ice, due to the design of this tire. The only concern I have about this tire is that it will not fit on some bikes due to its width, however it has enough lug on the side that it could probably be altered to fit in most cases. In my situation it works well and only makes contact with the chain occasionally.Overall this tire is perfect for my purposes.
