Crank Brothers 30.9 Kronolog Bicycle Seat Post, Black Review
Pinkbike.com and Bikeradar.com long ago chronicled the clamping issues with this product here ...[...] ... and here... [...]It worked great - REALLY GREAT - at first. I loved it. Totally as advertised. BUT then the slipping started. A little at first and then worse and worse. Over the course of one summer, it would no longer even hold my weight, and it is now in a box heading back to CB or to the trash, whichever I get around to first. I'm 5'-11", 170#, totally average freerider on a slightly beefed-up Giant Reign. If this product was not designed for me, then I don't know who it was designed for. Before I gave up on it, I would be in the middle of a corner, and the seat would slip, sometimes almost sending me off the bike. It became dangerous. I adjusted the cable per CB specs and video and all that, just like the reviewers did. It matters at first, leaving the slight slack in the cable as they suggest, but then later when the clamping surface fails, they use that detail against you as a customer and say that you didn't install it right - which is the worst thing a manufacturer can do is to blame the user when it's really their product that is failing. Very disappointing because this thing was an expensive gift that my GF gave me and it was a total bust. I'm going to invest in the GD Turbo or the RS Reverb when I get over this disappointment.
