I've recently built a long wheelbase dual 650 recumbent that has been a stunning bike to ride other than very often getting pinch flats on the rear tire due to heavy rear wheel loading and being unable to unload for harsh bumps. It had seemed to me that the tubular clinchers might be the answer and, so far, they are.

While the instructions say the tires can be mounted in less than a minute without tools, this is perhaps true if one has forearms like Popeye and have practice from putting on 1,000 of them. That said, once I had a bit of the "knack" from the first one, the other was somewhat less difficult to get stretched over the Zipp 404 clincher rims. Once installed, they ended up neatly locked in place.

Overall the ride is excellent with comparable rolling resistance to the Schwalbe Ultremo ZX tires I replaced. The major improvement is one of handling with the bike much more surefooted in steeply banked fast turns.
