Cycle Ops Quick Release Lever Upgrade Kit Review

This is a cheap way to upgrade your trainer if it came with the adjustment knob. Note that this will not make your trainer any more effective, it's just an easier way of getting the proper traction between your trainer's flywheel and the rear wheel of your bike. Before this, I had to turn the adjustment knob 2 1/2 times as stated in the manual for the flywheel to make the proper contact with the bike. I don't leave my rear wheel engaged after a workout so it's another 2 1/2 turns in reverse. This lever does the same work with 1 snap up to engage and 1 snap down to disengage.

I only rated it 4 stars since the manual that came with this upgrade kit only tells you how to install the lever, but not how to use it. Because of my prior experience with the trainer (a CycleOps Mag Trainer w/o Adjuster), I was able to figure out how far it should go before locking the lever, but this is not stated in the manual.

Overall, I'm glad I upgraded. Saves me a bit of time, plus it won't wear out my wrist.
