Electra Men's Stubby CP Fender Set Review

To start with, The picture I'm looking at now and when I placed order is not accurate. My front fender has no flair and the back has very little. I know this is purely aesthetics but a difference none the less. The next is more significant. The back fender (As pictured) shows a single clip. I estimated that bracket some how mounted to the cross member. This would position the fenders stopping point to be about at tires tallest point and center. The item I received has no top bracket. It mounts using a slotted bracket ( You don't see) up front around the peddle crank. Then there is a hole in the fender, made to fasten the fender to the cross member with a machine screw. The machine screw by peddle worked fine.
The screw made to go into cross member would not work, wrong diameter. I had to re-tap threads to secure fender. After securing rear fender, it stops about even with the back of the seat.
I bought the fender kit for two basic reasons. The first was for appearance. The fender do make the bike look sharp. The second reason is to protect a ash basket up front, an under seat bag to the rear, not mention me, from rain and wet conditions. The front fender works well. The rear not well at all. I considered the full fender kit but don't like the look of the support struts.
In conclusion, The fender do look great, MINE did not mount real easily, Front fender worked well in wet condition, Back not so well. I know Cruisers are not touring bikes, but most of us have been caught by a Summer storm. With this back fender your back will be as spotted as if the fender was not there.

I'm not using this on a bicycle...
but instead for a manual throttle hand control on my 4X4 (Mounts to the manual shift lever)
I like that the friction level can be adjusted... the friction adj. can either be near free or ratchet like a index shifter
For my use... it's great as I can use it either way depending on my throttle control needs.

We use it on our mountain bikes and for the road bike when the road and weather conditions promise to be poor. People who disagree with this lube are likely NOT using it correctly. FIRST, you must COMPLETELY clean your chain (remove it from the bike, use some citrus degreaser, and remove ALL existing lube). SECOND, apply a single drop of Dumonde Tech to each of the links, work it in by spinning the pedals and shifting. THIRD, WAIT! Let it do it's thing for a while (read: don't immediately go riding) and come back after a few hours and wipe off any excess lube with a clean rag.

These are much more sturdy than most training wheels, which is a very good thing. Like one other reviewer, I had a little bit of trouble installing. I found, that the problem was mostly because the wheel drop-outs on the bicycle frame spread out wide from the wheel when I took the axle nuts off. I solved this by using a clamp to hold the two sides of the drop-out together. The clamp will have to go through the spokes of the rear wheel and squeeze the two sides together. I hope my description makes sense and helps others. The greater strength of this product was well worth the trouble. One other possible solution would be to have a bike shop install a longer axle in the rear wheel, but this would probably cost a little. Good luck and good riding!
