I got a set of these brakes to replace a set of Avid BB7 mechanical discs on a 29r hardtail with matching SLX rotors. For the front I got a 180mm rotor as opposed to the 160mm I had previously. The feel of these brakes is superior to the mechanical Avids and I like them better than the Sram/Avid X0 brakes I have on another bike. The modulation and control on these is great, as is the single finger lever design. Also, although I haven't yet tried, I've been told they're very easy to bleed and if the hose needs to be shortened, one doesn't even have to necessarily bleed it at the same time, which is great. If you're looking for an incredible value in brakes, look no further than these. I would highly recommend them over the Avid Elixir 1.
